35mm Film Leader - Acetate - White - Kodak Alternative (Tape Splice Only)

35mm Film Leader - Acetate - White - Kodak Alternative (Tape Splice Only)
White acetate 35mm film leader alternative to Kodak leader. This diacetate film has the white color impregnated in the actual film base material and is not coated, so there is no risk of future surface degradation as compared to coated Kodak triacetate.
Diacetate shares many characteristics with industry standard triacetate, including stability, flexibility, and compatibility with professional film equipment. While triacetate is known for its longer-term archival stability, properly stored diacetate offers years of reliable performance in standard preservation conditions.
Our diacetate leader is slightly thinner than Kodak 6mil leader, making it more gentle on delicate film equipment such as vintage projectors, scanners, and editing machines. Its reduced thickness allows for smoother operation and reduced wear on mechanical components, making it an ideal choice for handling fragile or historical film materials. When paired with our inert 853 splicing tape, our diacetate provides a cleaner alternative to cement splicing, as coated triacetate must be scraped before cement can properly adhere.
Not suitable for use with modern film cement. Tape splice only.
This 35mm film leader is also referred to as acetate leader, film start leader, head leader, tail leader, white film, threading film, leader tape, 35mm spacing, 35mm spacer, 35mm bande amorce, 35mm filmvorspann, and 35mm editorial leader.
